Prabhu Deva and Remo D Souza
We all know about the unabated, pertinacious love and respect, ace choreographer turned director of the tinsel town, Remo D’Souza has for the King of Pop-Micheal Jackson. He worships MJ in his own stylistic manner. While Prabhu Deva, the greatest dancing asset of our country does the MJ steps with sheer perfection and also admires MJ’s work a lot. Working on a project that only talks about dance, showcases dance styles, and is the ultimate movie on the genre, named AnyBody Can Dance- ABCD, is the flick that is all about dancing and is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and guess who takes the director’s chair, Remo himself.
Now if this is a cine deemed to be in and out about dancing, then how can it even be possible without a touch of MJ to it? So to brush up the touch and pay a tribute to the Late King of Pop, Remo and Prabhudeva join hands to do a dance number. They pay homage to Micheal Jackson via means of their dancing skills.
Prabhu is also game for doing a short cameo in the movie and so is the Dhak-Dhak girl Madguri Dixit Nene, who when approached to do a song said a big yes! The last time we saw Madhuri-Prabhudeva set the screen ablaze was for their zippy item song “Que Sera” for Pukar way back in 2000. The song will be filmed in various locations all over Mumbai, grasping the sheer essence of the street dancing. They are all set to recreate the magic and sheer excellence back on the silver screen. That too in 3D!
The movie is about dance and so the cast is selected with utmost care keeping that aspect in mind. The star cast reads as Dharmesh, Salman Khan, Prince, Mayuresh and Vrushali, all contestants of the Indian dance reality show DID (Dance India Dance) with Lauren Gottlieb of the “So You Think You can dance” fame taking the female lead slot and also with cameos by Madhuri Dixit, Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Archarya, Remo pictures this film as the ultimate dance cine Indian audiences has ever been witness to.
The filming is on and the film is likely to release by February next year. Also it is to be a 3D one, which surmounts the anticipatory levels by a notch higher.
With Remo and Prabhu in for the tribute dance is as the icing on the cake. All are ardently expectant to see how things shape up and what enigma is set before the eyes of the audience when biggest dancing sensations come together to pay tribute to the ultimate King of Pop-MJ!
